It is EXTREMELY important that you follow the aftercare instructions. It can actually make or break your results. Say what??? Yep! Let's dive into it...
Have you heard of the emotional roller coaster that comes during the healing process. You have been warned. *wink wink*. Skin is truly an amazing and interesting organ.
After the appointment remember to not touch your serviced area. It's considered an open wound, so you dont want to put your dirty fingers on it (I know you wash your hands, but still don't touch it.)
Brows, Lips, and Eyes take about 10-14 days to heal on the outside and about 6 weeks to completely heal from the inside (which is why we wait 6-8 weeks to do the initial touch-up.)
For the first 10-14 days (until skin is healed visually), avoid the following:
No increased sweating or intense physical activities. Salt is a natural saline solution that pushes the pigment out and lessens the retention.
No swimming, saunas, jacuzzis, running your face under the water in the shower, or hot showers. Too much water will make the scabs soggy and effect the pigment retention as well as the lenghth of the healing process.
No laser, peels, or chemical treatments
No retin-a or glycolic acid
No heavy cleaning with dust or debris
No spicy foods
No smoking or alcohol. This slows down the healing which can lead to infection if a wound is open too long.
No driving in open vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bikes, motorcycles (Don't worry, it's just while it heals)
Once again, no touching the treated area other than gently washing it (not in the shower) and applying balm or ointment as directed.
No makeup on or near the treated area until it appears healed.
Do not scratch or pick the treated area. As it heals it may start to itch and become patchy. Pat the skin instead. This will avoid scarring and pigment loss.
Avoid sleeping positons that will rub your treated area while healing. Try a clean satin pillow case to avoid friction.
Cover treated area with a hat if you're in the sun. The sun will cause the area to fade, resulting in an undesired color. Always wear sunscreen on the treated area, even after it's healed if you aren't wearing makeup.
Are you still reading? *smile* Thanks.
Now lets get into more detail dependent on the service you recieved.
Brows-
Night of service- Place a little bit of gentle soap like liquid dial on your clean fingertips and gentle dab your brows, rinse with water by gentle patting with water, tap dry with clean tissue.
Next 10-14 days until it appears healed- Gentle wash brows in the morning(as described) and place a TINY rice grain amount of ointment on your brows using a q-tip (just enough to lightly scan across them. Too much will suffocate the skin too much, not allowing the important scabs to form), then gentle wash them one more time at night.
After the 10-14 days- resume exersise and life.
Eyeliner-
For the first 10-14 days, gently wash the skin with soap as describled in "Brows" morning and night. (starting the night of service)
That is all. No ointment used for eyeliner. (Wow that was easy.)
Lip Blushing-
Keep lips moist with aftercare balm, shea butter, or aquaphor.
No other lip products for 10 days.
Drink with straw for first 7-10 days
Limit kissing
